RECREATION
You can swim from the floating dock to our swimming a raft or drop a fishing line. Rent boat from a nearby marina and search out the big one. Kids love to fish with their parents or grandparents from our dock. It is almost impossible not to catch a lake perch. Kids will love to just sit on the dock and let the waves rock them back and forth. You can buy a bait at Charlie's Northland and also find out what you need to know to catch salmon, perch, pike and bass. Kids also love to go frogging on our property. They can spend hours just chasing the little hopping things. Their squeels of delight (the kids not the froggs) will be memories you cherish forever. We also have moorings available if you want to bring your own boat. Lake Champlain is a great place for boating. You can explore the lake and see the many beautiful inlets and coves along the lake shore. Anchor your boat and swim or pull a water skier. We do not brand boats but a wide variety over different boats are available on the lake at Tudhope Sailing Center, Hero's Welcome and Charlie's Northland. You can rent there by the 1/2 day, day or week.Tudhope Sailing Center also offers sailing lessons. The kids will love to walk the beach and look for sea glass. We have bowls and jars that decorate our home from the hunts our children have undertaken. There are also driftwood treasures waiting for you to discover. Fossils and mysteries get washed up on the shore all the time. Now we have nine holes. Guests love to get out and play our little course. There are no bent grass greens, just nice little clearly defined targets to shoot for. It is fun and it is free. We make balls and clubs available for your pleasure. It's a great place to work on your seven iron. We have repeat guests who are out before breakfast and hit balls for hours. They claim their games improve because of their practice. Or maybe they just like the chance to swing the club and be surrounded by the beauty of Vermont. After practicing at our place you are just a short drive to the Alburg Golf Club which is a scenic 18 hole course.
Croquet is making a comeback and we have it here. It is always fun for the novice or the expert to play on our court. We have a small playground for young toddlers, a great place to spend time with the little ones. We also have a shuffleboard and volleyball court and a basketball hoop. Bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats are available in the village at Heroes Welcome which is our island towns answer to L.L.Bean. It's also a great place to shop and pick up great presents for your family. Visit Heroes Welcome at www.heroeswelcome.com.
