Dinner Parties for Groups

Thank you for thinking about Shore Acres as a possible site for your dinner party.

There are a few ways we can accommodate group dinners at Shore Acres. First, we have two seatings for groups over eight guests: 5:00 or 5:30 and between 7:30 and 8:00.* With the 5:00 seating there is an option for an early arrival for a cocktail party outside.

By having two seatings it allows us to accommodate another large party and our in house guests. The 5:00 seating can enjoy up to two and one half hours of service until the next party or dinner guests arrive. The 7:30 to 8:00 time slot would be the last seating of the evening therefore there is not a defined time limit.

If your dinner party has fifteen guests or less your group can order off our menu or you can follow the next procedures. For larger parties we suggest two ideas. You can choose one entrée or allow your guests to choose between three or four. Normally the three choices involve beef, chicken and fish. Some examples are: apple island chicken (a sautéed boneless breast of chicken served with a homemade reduced apple cider sauce,) fresh sautéed salmon filet (with a cucumber dill sauce,) slow roasted prime rib of beef (au jus). These are all full entrees and are served with an inn salad, vegetables, potatoes and homemade bread.

We also offer a wide variety of dinner specials and our menu is posted on the website.

For appetizers our chef can prepare individual appetizers or a medley platter (crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, artisan cheeses, summer vegetables, dips etc.). Our pastry chef can make one dessert or if a entrée selection is offered your guests could do the same with a few desserts. With advanced notice a special cake can be brought in from the outside. We charge a $2.50 per person cake cutting charge.

The bar would be an open bar and you can choose full service or just beer and wine. We are not set up to offer a cash bar. Drinks ordered from the bar will be added to the dinner tab.

After the decision is made to serve one or more entrees and the choices are made for appetizers, entrees and desserts, our chef will need a final count one week prior to the dinner party. A non refundable deposit of $250.00 for a dinner party might be required.

*We do not have private rooms for parties. The area we use is separate but not divided or cordoned off from the other guests. In our season we offer private parties during the day and off season during the day or evening hours (please refer to inside and outside events on our website).

Prices do not include tax and tip (9% Vermont tax, 18% gratuity).

All inclusive price:

Includes appetizer medley, entrée (choice of three or four: priced at 24.95 or under) dessert, coffee, tax and gratuity $55.50 per person. Upgrade available for some entrée choices i.e. rack of lamb, lobster. Excluded: bar, tax and gratuity on bar.

Payment

Separate checks are not available for dinner parties. Multiple credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) can be used for payment along with checks and cash. For bookings, other questions and concerns please contact Susan.
